Position Summary:

The SEO Marketing Manager (Search Engine Optimization) is a strategic role responsible for developing and implementing SEO strategies to drive organic traffic and enhance online visibility. This position involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, implementing existing optimization strategies, and staying abreast of industry trends to drive continuous improvement in organic search performance. The SEO Marketing Manager plays a critical role in achieving business objectives and maximizing ROI through effective SEO initiatives.

A successful SEO Marketing Manager plays a crucial role in driving client satisfaction, retention, and advocacy, contributing directly to the overall success of the company.

Essential Functions:

SEO Strategy

  • White Hat SEO Implementation: Develop and implement SEO strategies focused on enhancing organic traffic using strictly white hat practices.
  • Collaborative Content Strategy: Collaborate with editorial and marketing teams to align content creation with SEO objectives, demonstrating strong creative instincts.
  • Evaluate Needs and Construct Recommendations: Assess client and prospective client needs to further enhance strategic SEO recommendations, considering timelines, budgets, and goals.
  • Integrated Search Strategy: Utilize an understanding of both paid (SEM) and organic search (SEO) to develop cohesive and effective strategies.

Onsite SEO

  • Optimize Key SEO Elements: Enhance meta descriptions, title tags, on-page copy, and landing pages to improve search engine performance.
  • Proactive Website Audits: Regularly audit websites to identify SEO risks and opportunities, demonstrating a self-starting and detail-oriented approach.
  • Development Collaboration: Work with development teams to ensure SEO best practices are incorporated into new code, showcasing leadership in cross-functional teams.
  • Technical SEO Support: Offer expertise in technical aspects such as crawling, indexing, sitemap generation, schema markup, and error resolution, emphasizing a hands-on approach.

Offsite SEO

  • Dynamic Link Building Management: Strategically manage and execute link building campaigns to strengthen online presence and domain authority. Demonstrate an ability to identify and rate link building opportunities and action those opportunities.
  • Effective Resource Management: Manage budgets for link building efforts, ensuring optimal resource allocation, and demonstrating fiscal responsibility.

Analytics and Performance Monitoring

  • Comprehensive Reporting: Produce detailed reports to monitor the effectiveness of SEO strategies, showing both planning and execution capabilities.
  • Advanced Analytics Utilization: Use tools like Google Analytics to drive decisions and adjust strategies, reflecting an analytical and proactive mindset.

Research and Trends

  • Innovative Keyword and Competitive Analysis: Conduct deep dives into keyword research and competitive analysis to inform content strategies, fueled by a creative and investigative approach.
  • Ahead of Trends: Stay informed about the latest SEO trends and algorithm updates to keep strategies sharp and current.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Seamless Integration and Leadership: Ensure SEO strategies are well-integrated with overall marketing objectives, working closely with various teams and leading by example in project execution.

Future Focus: Incorporating AI in SEO

  • AI-Driven SEO Tactics: Research AI technologies to automate and enhance tasks, increasing efficiency and foresight in SEO strategies along with AI to optimize content for better relevance and engagement, combining technological innovation with creative instincts.

Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge:

  • Proactive Communication: Strong in both internal and external collaboration, capable of translating data into actionable strategies.
  • Project Management: Able to manage multiple concurrent projects effectively, maintaining poise under pressure and meeting strict deadlines.
  • SEO Best Practice Principles: Deep understanding and application of SEO principles to optimize results.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in HTML and familiarity with WordPress along with essential SEO and analytical tools such as Google Search Console, Google Analytics, and Google Tag Manager.
  • Data & Analytics: Ability to analyze campaign performance metrics and derive optimization insights.
  • Collaboration: Ready to work in a team setting, contributing effectively to meeting campaign goals.
  • Leadership and Educational Role: Act as a subject matter expert and educate teams about SEO trends and strategies, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Education and Requirements:

  • Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years in SEO, with substantial knowledge and application of SEO principles.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in marketing, advertising, or a related field is preferred.
